WELCOME TO PARAGON OPEN DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS

This year marks the tenth year of the new multi-day Paragon Open DanceSport Championships (PODSC). We are proud to be able to merge Paragon Open DanceSport Challenge and the New Jersey DanceSport Championships a task we undertook over 13 years ago.

With the new vision and events for professionals, pro/am, and amateur competitors, we are looking to further our original vision which we had for the one-day Paragon Open DanceSport Challenge. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone who has been attending the Paragon Open over the past 12 years and hope to host new dancers and spectators over the 4-day championships event.

We will be bringing to you another very special and thrilling 2024 event with the 11th Annual Halloween edition of the PODSC. Taking place on October 24-27, 2024, our NDCA sanctioned championships is shaping up to be a riveting competition of top caliber Professional and Amateur Dancing from across the country!

We would like to invite all our guests to join in the fun and bring their best Halloween spirit to the ballroom – costumes welcomed for a Paragon Open Costume Contest! So please mark your calendars, put on your dance shoes and join us for an exciting day of tricks, treats and dancing at the 2024 Paragon Open!

PODSC is a proud member of the World ProAm DanceSport Series. In its 14th Season, the World ProAm Dancesport Series is comprised of over 75 National competitions, each designed to help the student accumulate points, which then add up towards top regional rankings, and cash prizes for top students and teachers. Winners and participants in the TSDSC World ProAm Dancesport Series will be awarded additional points towards their Series total for increased chances of winning the grand prize!

PODSC is a proud member of the Best of the Best DanceSport Challenge. The Best of the Best DanceSport Challenge is a yearly competition between some of the top Pro/Am couples in the country who are winners at the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels of dance. The Best of the Best was originally started as a challenge for the Top Competitor between the Atlanta Open, Holiday Classic, and the Ohio Star Ball. The Challenge has now expanded to 23 qualifying events held throughout the calendar year, including representatives from the Dancer’s Cup Tour, and culminating with the Grand Finale events at the Ohio Star Ball.

PODSC is a proud member of the Dancer’s Cup Tour. The Dancers Cup Tour is comprised of nationally recognized ballroom and Latin dance competitions that are organized by some of the finest dance champions and judges in the industry! It is the “Tour of Excellence” and is supported by dancers all across the US and Canada!

PODSC is proud to be a part of the Fordney Foundation Youth Dancesport Scholarship Series which awards scholarships to junior and youth dancesport competitors. Junior and youth dancesport competitors accumulate points for ranking beginning and ending with Ohio Star Ball each November. Awards will be given to top 10 couples in Standard and top 10 couples in Latin, as well as participants of the East Coast vs West Coast team match.
